The Chimp Paradox

Sometimes we make irrational decisions, especially during emotional times. Retrospectively if we look at these choices, it may not make any sense on why we choose to do so. The author divided brain into three parts – the human brain, the chimp brain, and the computer brain. Each part of the brain comes into action during certain situations. The chimp brain helped us through prehistoric times for survival. But in these modern days, the relevance of the chimp brain has decreased. Often this chimp brain acts up and gets us into trouble. So how do we control the chimp brain to make rational decision?

The author sums up all the explanations in easily digestible bits. Overall, the book is a very engaging read.
